Lewis Tompkins Hose Co. #1 is a part of the City of Beacon Fire Department located on the East bank of the Hudson River in Dutchess County, NY, 90 miles south of Albany and 70 miles north of NYC. LTH is also known as Station 2. Mase Hook & Ladder (also known as Headquarters) and Beacon Engine Co. (Station1) are the other fire companies that make up the BFD.
The men and officers are volunteers, except for the four professional firefighters at each of the three fire stations (12 paid firefighters) that operate the apparatus.
